Our first session of the Confident Caregiver Series got off to a wonderful start! Caregivers joined us to learn, connect, and gain practical strategies to support both themselves and their loved ones.
Melody Vachal led the session, focusing on caregiver wellbeing. She introduced her Circle of Care and emphasized the importance of asking for help and leaning on your support network. One of the key takeaways from the session was the idea of “practice makes permanent.” Melody explained that the more consistently we practice self-care habits, even in small ways, the more naturally they become part of our daily routine — making long-term wellbeing achievable.
She encouraged caregivers to start small, offering examples like:
- Taking five minutes each morning to stretch or breathe deeply.
- Setting a daily reminder to drink water or eat a nourishing snack.
- Asking a friend or family member to help with one task each week.
These small, manageable steps may seem minor, but over time they create lasting habits that improve overall wellbeing and resilience.
At the start of the session, attendees shared how they were feeling — with words like thankful, supported, and hopeful. By the end, feedback highlighted the impact of the session: one guest shared that she “feels seen now,” reflecting the sense of recognition and connection caregivers experienced.
We’re excited to continue the series over the next three weeks, building on these conversations and providing more tools, strategies, and support for those caring for loved ones.
If you’re a caregiver who hasn’t joined yet, there’s still time to participate — both in-person and virtually. Come connect, learn, and take a proactive step toward your wellbeing.
